It’s a good idea to make a back up copy of the file you’ll be editing.

Money Cheat
In your Homeworld 2 folder navigate to bin> Profiles> Profile 1> Campaign> ASCENSION and find the “persist#.lua” files (the # is which mission the file is for). If you want to cheat on mission 3 you would use “persist3.lua.” Open the file with TextEdit. At the very bottom of the file should be “RUs =” which you can change to the amount of money you want.

All Missions Cheat
In your Homeworld 2 folder navigate to bin> Profiles> Profile and fine the “playercfg.lua” file. Open the file in TextEdit and Find “maxmission =” the number is what mission you are up to. Change the number to 15 to play all missions.

To enter cheat mode hit the tilde (~) key, then type in one of the following codes and hit enter.

Save Cheat
When you are shot down, or if you crash, quickly press escape, and end the mission. A dialogue will come up asking if you want to end the mission. Click on end mission. This will prevent your character from being killed, saving your score and rank, but you won’t get any points that you accumulated during the mission that you just failed.

Kill Enemies Easily
Press control and x to down an enemy fighter without even shooting it. Using this cheat, however, will not present you with a kill on your score sheet.

Superman Cheat
1. When in the game, press ctrl S. This gives you the ability to move anywhere in the area in any direction as fast as you like using the 2, 4, 6 and 8 keys. To get back in normal mode hit ctrl S again.

To activate the Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 cheat codes, you must first enable the game’s console. To do so, select the Video/Audio menu and enter the Advanced section. Locate the console setting on the right side of the screen; make sure the console box contains a checkmark. During gameplay, press the tilde (~) key to open the console. With the console open, type in any of these codes followed by the enter key to activate the respective cheat code.

Pressing up after successfully entering a code will bring up the code you just entered. If you edit this previous code accordingly you can more easily and quickly enter the next code.

God
Toggles god mode and unlimited ammunition.

Notarget
Enemies don’t attack.

Noclip
Walk through walls and floors.

give all
All weapons and items.

health 100
Full health.

Hold Apple-Shift-Control immediately after you have been hit (right before you die, when it starts you with a new cart) you will end up with 9 lives and they are unlimited.

Pause the game and hit the following keys:

aaa
Gives you full ammo.

sss
Gives you full shields.

mmm
Gives you a mortar launcher.

vvv
Gives you an extra life.

Skip Levels
On the ‘Pick your veichle’ screen, type the word “CHEAT”. Type the world number to jump to (1-6), and the level number to jump to (1-5, 3 is bonus, 5 is boss). You’ll be jumped to the chosen level.

Level Select
Hold down option and select new game.
